NE.CES.SI.TIES for Traveling with Kids

Two days in a car and hotel with kids. Here are some not as often thought of necessities for traveling with kids.

A DVD player

A Nintendo 64

Gameboys

Books

A sunroof

We were able to keep the kids pretty entertained with the above listed items. We took their Nintendo 64 and hooked it to the DVD player in the car. We only have two controllers, but they had other things to keep them busy. I have fallen in love with a sunroof for selfish reasons. It is great for drowning out the boys argueing and goofiness when the games or movie get boring (better ensure it isn't raining before you open it so you don't LITERALLY drown out the noise or kids). The last hour of the way home we had the sunroof open and the boys could talk all the neverending nonsense they wanted!
I would recommend, however, that if you have any sanity BEFORE you go....leave it at home. If you don't, you probably will not return with it. Especially if, on top of the drive you stay in a hotel room with four little boys!
It has been a long two days, we are very glad to be home. The house is listed again, so pray it sells quickly! We are really comfortable with the realtor we are using this time around. He came and presented a full marketing plan and all kinds of comparisons and charts and graphs. All of that work and we had not even told him we were for sure listing with him.
The market in the Little Rock area is the best market for trying to sell houses in the nation. That is not according to the realtor, that is according to Forbes and I heard about it on ABC not to long ago, which is partially what spurred us into relisting now. He did say he had sold more in the last two weeks than he had in the last three months. Sounds promising, but we will see.
