First Mardi Gras Experience

The kindergarten class had a Mardi Gras parade this morning. Parents were invited and the first graders went and watched. The kindergarteners threw Mardi Gras beads and candy to those watching.

We (Daddy and I) did not go. They were not letting parents park on campus and there is only a small park close by to park at. Bryce dressed up as a shark (the kids wore costumes). They were allowed to bring decorated wagons to use as "floats" and there were older kids pulling the wagons.

I sent a gallon size Ziploc bag full of Mardi Gras beads. I think the boys brought at least that much home between the two of them. I probably have 10 pounds of beads around MY neck right now. And, if you remember these pictures of Andrew last summer with the beads, he still loves the beads. He immediately started pulling them out of Isaac's bag when he realized he had them.

The boys REALLY want to go to a Mardi Gras parade this weekend, but we aren't. The thought of trying to keep up with four kids in a sea of people that are drunk and crazy does not sound appealing to me. They are all going to be SO crazy and crowded and the mere thought of going exhaust me at this point!

They get off school on Monday and Tuesday for Mardi Gras. TWO DAYS off for Mardi Gras!
