Boomerang TV

Our cable company has a channel called Boomerang. It shows OLD (as in from when I was young and older) cartoons. Cartoons I had completely forgotten about until Paul found this channel. The boys love these cartoons more than the "modern day" cartoons. We have seen Yogi Bear, Tom and Jerry, some others that I don't remember, but we got excited when we saw them!

Andrew only has a few shows he will sit down and watch whenever it is on. They would be Wonder Pets, Backyardigans and Curious George. He has a new favorite now. Tom and Jerry. He LAUGHS through the whole show. It is hilarious to watch him watch it.

How did those of us that grew up watching that show not end up worse people than we are? I forgot how violent (in a not-so-serious-or-violent-compared-to-todays-world) some of the old cartoons could be. For example, yesterday there was a duck crying because he read the Ugly Duckling. He was putting himself on bread, and going to Tom and telling him to eat him. Or getting in Tom's food bowl and putting salt all over him for Tom to eat him, etc. Of course, Jerry would rescue him just in time every time. A suicidal duck.
