Trees for the Kids
Hick's Yew (the tall plant in the corner)
Bryce's Maple Tree
Andrew's Maple Tree
Isaac's Redbud
This weekend we (as in Paul) planted some trees. We planted two Autumn Maples in the front yard and a Redbud in the side yard. The idea is to plant a tree for each one of the kids. We are suppose to have a tree company come out and remove the trees in the back yard. After they do that, we are going to plant a new tree.
Bryce and Andrew each have one of the maples, and Isaac has the redbud. We are going to let Caleb have the tree in the back and he can have a little more say in what we plant.
Tonight I will try to get all of the kids out under "their" tree and get a picture of them and when we get Caleb's tree I will post a picture of him with it.
Paul has done such a great job with the landscaping. He has put up electric landscape lighting (instead of solar) which meant wiring all of the lights together and burying the lines. He put some flood lights in the corners of the front, but they had nothing to shine on, so we also got some Hicks Yew for the corners.
It was funny because after Paul planted all the trees, the next morning we came home from running some errands and our neighbors across the street were out planting a tree. We had noticed them looking at ours and talking about them and I commented that they were going to plant a tree. When we got out of the car, the neighbor calls out to us "Look at what you started!" His wife made him go get a tree and plant it after living in the house for two years without one!!
Now we just need to get some flowers for the front flowerbed and I think the front will look great. Oh, and the grass greening the rest of the way would be nice!!
If you double click on the above pictures, you can see the landscape lighting that Paul put in.
