One week at a time

That is how we are living right now!! It is so much easier when Paul is out of town and we KNOW when he will be home!! We know he will be home on the weekends, but we don't know how long we will ONLY see him on weekends. There is so much to do on the weekends to get ready for him to leave for another week, that we don't really get to enjoy the weekend!

He gets home around 7, Friday night and leaves by 4 on Monday morning. We get 57 hours - but that includes sleeping (but who is counting?)! By the time we do laundry, get groceries and he does the yard work and then the sleeping, showers, etc.. - we have significantly less time!

Needless to say, we have kinda become home-bodies! This is only the second week he has been gone like this, the first for this actual project, but the fact that we know that this has the potential of being a LONG-TERM arrangement, makes it hard, especially for the kids! They are SO excited when he gets home but you can tell by SUnday afternoon they know what is coming. Lots of questions start being asked about where he is going, when he will be home, why he has to go, etc.

Friday night when Daddy got home, Andrew looked at him for a few seconds and started smiling and kicking and was trying to climb out of my arms to see his Daddy. It is so neat that he has gotten to where he shows his excitement more when Daddy gets home!

So, until things change, and Daddy is home - we will go to church on Sunday's, do the grocery shopping, and enjoy "lazy" weekends at home the majority of the time! We will take our 57 hours a week and make the most out of it! Just don't come to my house on Monday morning - because housework (other than laundry) is not as important as spending time with Daddy!!!

PS I would like to know why Andrew slept ALL night every night this weekend, but when Daddy is gone, he is UP ALL NIGHT! Can he tell when Daddy is not there and doesn't sleep well, or does he sense that Mommy is not sleeping well and it affects him? I always put him in his bed at night, but when Paul is gone he doesn't stay there for long before he is up screaming!! HMMMMMM?
