The Monkey Named Andrew

Once upon a time there was a monkey named Andrew. Monkey Andrew's mommy put him in his bed for a nap. She went in a few minutes later to check on him and found this:

Monkey Andrew had learned how to sit on his knees and he had his arm and face over the side of his bed. Monkey Andrew had been warned numerous times about this. Mommy quickly did this:

Monkey Andrew did not really care for this much. He tried using his monkey head to pound through the side of his "cage". He soon learned his monkey head was no match for whatever the weird stuff was between him and his mommy. So he decided to try some other approaches to getting out!

First he tried his sad monkey eyes at his mommy.

When he found that was not working, he decided to try his cute monkey smile on mommy.

When that didn't work, he decided he would try his monkeyness on mommy and thought he would just climb out, but the walls seemed SO HIGH!!

He quickly gave up that idea and thought he would use his monkey tongue to slobber his way out. Mommy thought this was REALLY funny. Monkey Andrew could not figure out what his mommy was laughing so hard at though. He decided to try to use his monkey claws to get himself out.

Just as Monkey Andrew was about to give up hope of being rescued, a bigger monkey boy came to visit him. He decided he would plea his monkey case to him and see if he would free him.

But, unfortunately instead of helping, the bigger monkey also started laughing and posed for a picture. Then he ran away from Monkey Andrew. Monkey Andrew could not figure out why bigger monkey boy wasn't in the "cage" with him.

Monkey Andrew's story does not have a good ending. He got rescued that time, but he gets put back in his "cage" whenever Mommy says it is bedtime! Monkey Andrew goes through this whole routine every time he gets put "to bed" but has never managed to get out.

If only Monkey Andrew wasn't such a monkey and always trying to escape. Mommy tried not to have to do it. She thought it was cute when Monkey Andrew would peer over the top of his bed and grin at her, but he had to go get big and bad and start hanging over the side!! Bad Monkey Andrew!!! Will you ever learn?

No Monkeys named Andrew were injured in the making of this story - just a little irritated!!

Why aren't you writing children's stories? I know you have spare time because you are a 'Stay-at-Home'! We all know that just means eating bon bons and watching TV. I love you! Mom
