Our electricity went out most of the afternoon Sunday due to a storm. I don't what it is about this house but we don't have very good luck with lightening hitting our yard and knocking out untilities (even though all of our lines are underground). It was not bad at first - when it was still warming because it had cooled down to about 80 degrees and it was still light outside. The storm, however, did not last long and the house quickly grew very hot and outside hot and humid! We were at the point where we were considering going to a hotel because the electric company said it could be 10pm before it was back on and the heat was getting unbearable.
Paul took the kids outside to try and get at least a breeze. They decided to roll in the wet grass and got covered (Paul had mowed a couple of hours before!). They were so bad when they came in I told them they had to go take showers. They took them one at a time, with one of the others sitting in the doorway with a headlamp on giving at least a little bit of light to take a shower from. It was pretty funny though because obviously the younger two don't have much of an attention span. Everytime they heard a noise behind them, they would turn around, leaving whoever was in the shower in a pitched black room!
WE LOVE ELECTRICITY!!!!!!
