Vacation

Yesterday we left to go to Gulf Shores, Alabama. The trip took a lot longer than we expected. There were several places that we hit heavy rain and several places we hit heavy traffic. We got here, walked out to the beach, unpacked and went to eat dinner and get groceries. By the time we got back, it was time to put the kids to bed.

It was awesome sitting out on the deck listening to the waves crash and feeling the cool breeze. There was a full moon to our left and lightening to the right. It could not have been more awesome.

This morning the boys were up early and we were on the beach before 7:30. The boys all had a blast playing in the sand and the water. It took a while to get the boys (except Caleb) to actually play in the water, but once they started getting in they quickly got used to it. Daddy kayaked in and out and took kids with him one at a time. Andrew still is not used to the water. I have gotten him to sit down on the beach with me and let the water crash against him, but he did not enjoy it.

There has been rain all around us all day. Oil rigs were disappearing in storms and there was sun over us. After dinner we went to check out Gulf Shores and get some ice cream. While we were in town it poured at the house here. It was done when we got back.

Bryce came in while we were fixing dinner and said "Mommy and Daddy, thank you for bringing us to the beach. I am sad that we have to go home tomorrow though." We usually just do overnight family trips, so he was sure we were leaving. When I told him we were here until Tuesday, he got very excited.

Caleb is enjoying all the bikini clad girls walking the beach. I don't know how many times he has commented on them.
