Andrew is doing well today. The IV got disconnected today, although it is still actually in his foot - one less tube to get tangled up in! His feeding tube is still in, for now. He is supposed to reach his goal with that tonight and if he continues to do well we will have the tube removed in the morning.
The dr came in this morning and was pleased with his progress. She said that if he keeps up the way he is going now, we will be out tomorrow evening. She put him back on his normal solid food diet. He is allowed to have anything - as long as it does not have dairy in it. He had spagetti, mashed potatoes and a banana for lunch. I had to make him stop eating for fear he would get sick - and he was not happy about it! He ate about a third of the plate of spagetti and 2/3 of the banana and a couple of bites of potatoes. He was very excited to have some "real" food. It is still very sad when they come in to pour a bottle of formula in his bag - he cries when he sees the bottle - because he wants to DRINK the bottle!
Our neighbors in our room got to go home today. I had gotten used to the poor babies pulse monitor going off CONTINUOUSLY!! It is just me and AJ right now - and boy is it quiet....well, maybe inactive would be a better word! I am on the infant and toddler unit so between the babies and the nurses quiet probably is not a fitting word.
I have taken some pictures today and yesterday. If I can find the necessary cables in Paul's bag, I will post some pictures so you can all feel even more sorry for the poor boy!
