Wednesday, on Bryce's birthday, he announced he was no longer a stinky three year old, but now a big four year old. Who knew when he said this, that it would SO work in my favor.
Since he made that comment, when he starts whining or throwing temper tantrums, I say "I thought you weren't a stinky three year old, but a big four year old. I guess you are back to being a stinky three year old." Every time, he has responded "I am not a stinky three year old, I am a big four year old" and straightened up and acted the way he is suppose to.
I guess it is like those who use birthdays to get rid of pacifiers or blankets by saying "only 2 year olds use a pacifier " or whatever - well, only three year olds are stinky in this case!!
Who knew that he would be so insulted by being called a stinky three year old, that I could use it in my favor to get him to behave. He doesn't even respond that way if you take his favorite toy away! WHATEVER WORKS!!!!
