Boring Days of Summer

I took the boys to the park yesterday and we had a picnic. It is getting hard to find outings for them that don't break the bank. They really like having picnics though - it is just so hot and humid! I think their favorite outing this summer was going to the fire department. We went twice, but the best one was on Bryce's birthday. Bryce LOVES anything to do with firemen and firetrucks. He screams when he hears sirens, no matter where we are or what we are doing.

Caleb was really interested in the pole. He was upset the first time we went because the station we went to did not have one. The second one we went too did, and they also got a complete tour of the house. The captain picked Caleb up and put him as high on the pole as he could reach, then let him slide down.

Isaac was not too sure about all of it. He enjoyed it to a degree, but it really was not his cup of tea. It kind of scared him to hear the sirens and all, but he did seem to somewhat enjoy getting to see all of the different kinds of trucks - including the bomb truck, with the bomb robot.

Back to where I was before I got off on the fire station. We only have about a week and a half until school starts, and then we will not have as much time to do all of this. Between school and Isaac's classes and Bryce's naps, our days are pretty busy during the school year!
