The company Paul works for is a big contributer to Relay for Life. They do many fund raisers (jambalaya lunches, golf tournaments, etc) throughout the year. Then at the annual Relay for Life, they have a tent set up and sell chicken tenders, fries, drinks boudin balls, game tickets, etc. Last night was the Relay for Life and we went and hung out while Daddy helped work the tent.
We went as soon as the boys got home from school and stayed until 11 last night. His company had a huge game set up of laser tag, hamster ball, gyroscope (two seats you get buckled in to and it spins all around) and a van that had Wii on the outside and Xboxes on the inside. The boys each got bracelets so they could do any of the games an unlimited amount of times.
Andrew lived in the hamster ball. After he would have his turn he would go back to the end of the line and wait to go again. The first couple of times he went, he just walked in it while they pushed it (sucking his thumb the whole time). After he did it a couple of times he started rolling in it. He would just lay down and go with it. One of the times as he was getting out he decided to do a belly flop on the hard ground (guess the excitement got to him). The woman and I both gasped, but he got up laughing.
Caleb stayed in laser tag almost the entire night, while Isaac and Bryce stayed in the video game van (except for a couple of trips to the hamster ball).
The three older boys all gave the climbing wall a shot. Bryce barely got off the ground before he gave. Isaac got probably a third of the way. Caleb made it to the top.
After a while of the hamster ball, Andrew went to help the ladies in the tent. His favorite thing was taking money from people that were buying food. He would put it in the money box and close the box. Towards the end of the night someone that works for the company was buying some food and gave him money. He couldn't open the box to put the money in, so he just gave her the entire box :) Luckily, he was being watched and it was someone everyone knew!
I was hoping they would sleep in today....Mads was up about 6:30, the boys by 8. :(
The boys are already talking about next year, so I guess they had a ball!
