HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY ANDREW

Today was my last baby boys 3rd birthday! He wanted to have his cake and open presents last night, so we let him. We made a cupcake Buzz rocket ship cake. The general consensus was that it looked more like a Christmas tree, but oh well!

Andrew wanted a Toy Story Cowboy Pirate Monkey birthday party. So, he was the pirate monkey, the cake was the Toy Story, there were some stuffed monkeys wearing pirate eye patches and cowboy hats. We did the best we could at fulfiling what he wanted!

When it was cake time, well he never fails to surprise us when it comes to the cake. Last year he took a bite out of the corner when he was supposed to be blowing out the candles. This year, after he ate the frosting off the cake and said it was time for another cupcake (apparently, the frosting IS the cake)....he took all of his little Toy Story figures and shoved there heads in the cupcakes that were left. The cupcakes were full of holes.

That is okay though. The dog pulled the box off the table and ate them anyway!

He has had a blast with his Buzz Lightyear hands and fly pack. Today he opted to go to the zoo and then have Mexican food for lunch (that's my boy!! I NEVER get tired of Mexican food)!

I hope he had a great birthday! He has become such a big boy, always keeping up with his brothers.

Now, if we could just get rid of the thumb-sucking!!

The company Paul works for is a big contributer to Relay for Life. They do many fund raisers (jambalaya lunches, golf tournaments, etc) throughout the year. Then at the annual Relay for Life, they have a tent set up and sell chicken tenders, fries, drinks boudin balls, game tickets, etc. Last night was the Relay for Life and we went and hung out while Daddy helped work the tent.

We went as soon as the boys got home from school and stayed until 11 last night. His company had a huge game set up of laser tag, hamster ball, gyroscope (two seats you get buckled in to and it spins all around) and a van that had Wii on the outside and Xboxes on the inside. The boys each got bracelets so they could do any of the games an unlimited amount of times.

Andrew lived in the hamster ball. After he would have his turn he would go back to the end of the line and wait to go again. The first couple of times he went, he just walked in it while they pushed it (sucking his thumb the whole time). After he did it a couple of times he started rolling in it. He would just lay down and go with it. One of the times as he was getting out he decided to do a belly flop on the hard ground (guess the excitement got to him). The woman and I both gasped, but he got up laughing.

Caleb stayed in laser tag almost the entire night, while Isaac and Bryce stayed in the video game van (except for a couple of trips to the hamster ball).

The three older boys all gave the climbing wall a shot. Bryce barely got off the ground before he gave. Isaac got probably a third of the way. Caleb made it to the top.

After a while of the hamster ball, Andrew went to help the ladies in the tent. His favorite thing was taking money from people that were buying food. He would put it in the money box and close the box. Towards the end of the night someone that works for the company was buying some food and gave him money. He couldn't open the box to put the money in, so he just gave her the entire box :) Luckily, he was being watched and it was someone everyone knew!

I was hoping they would sleep in today....Mads was up about 6:30, the boys by 8. :(

The boys are already talking about next year, so I guess they had a ball!

Easter 2010

Here are some pictures from the kids Easter egg hunt in our backyard (please ignore the landscaping...we got the front done this past weekend.....the back is next).

A few years back we did a night egg hunt. We gave the kids flashlights and let them search for eggs. It was a big hit. They seemed to enjoy it better than the regular hunt. So, next year we will probably do that for the older kids.

Andrew would pick up an egg, but instead of putting it in the bucket and grabbing more, he would open each egg, take the candy and put it in the bucket and then put the egg back on the ground. Maybe he was trying to make his brothers get empty eggs...I don't know!

Madeleine's First Easter

Those of you who know me may be shocked that she is not in a big pink foofoo dress. Don't worry...next year!!! I did not get that dress this year because she spends more time on her knees than on her feet and I didn't want her tripping over her pretty dress!

The Easter Bunny made a little patch of eggs for her in the middle of the yard. Of course, once she picked up one egg....she was happy! She didn't care about the rest. Eventually, though, she did pick them all up, dump them all out, picked them back up, etc.

Clean Poop

I went to wipe Andrew's bottom a few minutes ago and noticed something strange in the toilet. As I was looking in the Throne of Disgustingness Andrew offers an explanation as to what I am looking at.

"I was giving my poop a bubble bath!"

It was orange body wash that was in the bottom of the toilet.

You can add that to the list of things I never thought I would hear. I swear people, you just can't make this stuff up!!

Confidence

Madeleine is learning the importance of confidence. After months of cruising around the house, holding on to anything she can, Saturday she decided to start walking hands free.

For a long time now she would take a couple of steps and fall down. Instead of getting back up, she would give up and crawl. Or, if she was walking and saw anyone looking at her she would immediately drop to the floor.

Saturday she decided to be confident in herself and her ability to walk hands-free. She would take some wobbly steps and plop on her bottom. Then she would get back up and take some more wobbly steps. She has been doing this all weekend.

She still hasn't mastered walking, and that is okay with me! But, she is trying and trying and not getting frustrated like she does with everything else!

:( My last baby is walking (and seeming less and less like a baby :(

Smart Boy!

Last week Andrew and I were in Starbucks drive through. I had taken my seatbelt off to reach to get my wallet. When we were done we were going to a store in the same parking lot and I didn't put my seatbelt back on.

"Momma...you no seatbelt" I heard from the backseat.

"Nope, I don't have it on, but we are just going right there." I replied.

"Mommy you HAVE to wear seatbelt in the car all the time."

"You are right. We DO have to wear our seatbelt all the time when we are in the car." I said as I put my seatbelt on while I parked the car.

Can't argue when he is right, I guess!
